Fastest Way To Detox in Kuala Lumpur

“Detoxing” has become one of the jargon terms that has become popular among health circles in Kuala Lumpur. Besides diets such as juicing and going raw, there are also other detoxification methods such as coffee enemas, vitamin C flushes and more. But what really is the fastest way to detox in Kuala Lumpur? And what are some of the benefits of detoxing your body? More importantly, what IS detoxing?

What Is Detoxing?

According to dictionary.com, detox is the shortened form of detoxification, and here is the definition:
noun
1.Biochemistry. the metabolic process by which toxins are changed into less toxic or more readily excretable substances.
2.the act of detoxifying.
3.the state of being detoxified.
4.a period of medical treatment, usually including counseling, during which a person is helped to overcome physical and psychological dependence on alcohol or drugs.

In short, it is the process of ridding or eliminating toxins from your body. There are naturally occurring toxins and waste that your cells excrete and eliminate through natural processes, and then there are toxins that we pick up from the air, from food, from being around electronics and so on.

While our body was made to eliminate toxins, sometimes a little help goes a long way. For example, one of the main functions of excess body fat is to store toxins that the body didn’t rid fast enough. Often when the toxins are detoxified, the body has no use for the excess fat and rids itself of it naturally.

What Are The Benefits of Detoxing?

According to Livestrong.com, the benefits of detoxing spans more than just physical improvements, but has many mental advantages as well:

• body organs such as the stomach and liver begin to work more efficiently which in turn helps digestion and other bodily processes;
• excess body fat often stores toxins that, once flushed out, the body has no need for the fat anymore and flushes it out;
• some people often notice their energy levels are higher after going through a detox;
• other people report that stress, fatigue and restlessness all dissipate after a detox session, leaving their minds clear and their ability to focus, stronger;
• many people report weight loss after a detox.

This is where my non-expert opinion comes in: everything I learned about the human body in high school boiled down to its’ ability to cleanse itself of waste and toxins naturally. So why not let the body do what it was made to do? Yes, I do believe proper diet, exercise and drinking water instead of soda helps, but essentially our body already detoxes on its’ own!

While going on a juice fast may support someone in losing weight, I am not sure it is really the healthy way to go (mainly because I tried it once for three days and had the worst migraine throughout the ordeal which dissipated immediately upon eating some home-cooked rice and chicken).

One of the fastest natural detoxification processes I know of is to sweat! Whether that means going to the gym and working out, jumping in a Far Infrared Sauna, or going outside to do some gardening in the heat of the day, there are many benefits to sweating AND it is one of your body’s natural detoxification processes!

The Benefits of Sweating – The Fastest Natural Detox I Know Of!

After poking around on themedicaldaily.com and fitness.mercola.com, here are some of the proven benefits of sweating:

• Improves skin;
When you sweat, your skin pores open up and releases build up. Sweat purges the body of toxins that can clog pores and cause pimples and blemishes.
• Releases toxins;
Sweating can flush the body of substances of alcohol, cholesterol, and salt. The body releases toxins by using sweat as the conduit.
• Kidney stone prevention;
Sweating can be an effective way to sweat out excess salt. This limits the accumulation of salt and calcium in the kidneys and urine, which is where the stones originate from.
• Kills viruses and bacteria that can’t stand temperatures above 98.6 degrees;
Some viruses and bacteria cannot stand temperatures above 98.6 degrees. As you sweat your body temperature rises, killing said viruses and bacteria.
• Boosts endorphins.
Sweating, by means of exercise, releases more endorphins which helps people feel happier. So get out there and work it! Sweating can also relieve stress and improve blood circulation as well.

But let’s be honest, timing can be an issue for many Malaysians out there. After all, we can’t help it if we get stuck in an hour and a half long jam, and then have to choose between going to the gym or spending time with our children. So what is a Malaysian to do?

This is where SweatSpa comes in and saves the day for many people.
